Tawnya

"Tawnya" is the actual name of a two page poem Angela Bowden McPhee wrote for me at 2 o'clock in the morning the night before I moved to Toronto.

She tucked it under my door so I would have it to read on my way to the airport.

I'll admit this didn't sink in at 18 years of age, but it was always with my belongings through 13 moves until I lost one of the pages :(.

Today I feel down.

I miss the three Sarah's, Needham Preschool, Theresa, The Dartmouth Family Resource Centre, and my support groups.

I miss walking through Point Pleasant Park, laying on the grass at the Public Gardens, and taking the bus for no other reason but to sight see with the boys.

Anyway...before I lose the first page I decided to write it here so I will forever have it with me in cyber space.

"Tawnya"

I find it hard to sum up all the qualities you posses.
They're equally outstanding and I admire you...to confess.

The beauty, Tawnya, you maintain is deeper than your skin.
It's the character, the maturity, the strength you have within.

You carry yourself respectably, whether loungin' or having fun.
I know your mother's proud of you, and to her I say "well done".

The time has come to spread your wings and see how high you'll fly.
And though you will be greatly missed, I know you will get by.

Remember all that you've been taught, and if you're ever in doubt
Weigh your pros's and then your con's, you're smart...you'll work it out.

I know you'll do wellTawnya,someday you'll reach your goal
And as it has been said before "You reap what you sew".

That's it...that's all I can find.

I guess it will be the ending unless Angie remembers what she wrote in the middle of the night in 1997.

Oh I forget to add that I love this poem because it makes me sound amazing.....which I am.

I just like verification.
